A catch-all email mailbox receives email messages sent to non-existent email addresses under the very same domain. For instance, an email sent to the mistyped suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can get emails from pals or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an outdated one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Only one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at a certain point you may begin receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction implies that the spam will not be sent to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Web Hosting

If you’ve got a cloud web hosting service with us and you wish to activate the catch-all option for a particular mailbox that you’ve got in your hosting account, it will take literally only one click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to achieve this. A catch-all button is available on the right-hand side of each and every email address that you have set up under any domain name hosted in the account. You can choose one single address per domain name by clicking on the respective button. This will activate the feature immediately, so all email messages sent to misspelled addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking the button again will disable the catch-all feature. If you have enabled email forwarding, our system will show a warning notification and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature till you delete the forwarding or you can simply pick some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all address can be configured with several clicks in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server with us. The hosting account will be managed through our in-house built Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll be able to set up mailboxes using any domain hosted here. To enable the catch-all functionality for a given mailbox, you’ll have to click the icon with the exact same name, which will be on the right side of each mailbox. Deactivating this functionality can be achieved in the very same manner and will not take more than a click either. If the catch-all functionality has already been enabled for a particular domain, you will receive a notification. The same is valid if the mailbox that you’d like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never deactivate or replace any feature automatically.
